Introduction
Buckingham Place is situated in the remote coastal village of Rekawa fronting a wilderness beach where endangered marine turtles come ashore to nest. This secluded and laid back beachside hotel feels more like a homestay where guests are provided a personalised and caring service. Set on five acres edged by the turquoise seas and a vast picturesque lagoon, Buckingham Place is immersed in nature where Grey Langurs and exotic birds hover on the tree tops. This 16-room holiday retreat offers a range of rooms and suites that are airy and colourful, and equipped with all modern conveniences. There are two swimming pools; restaurant serving sumptuous Sri Lankan and international fusion cuisine; an in-house spa, and interesting surroundings that is perfect for nature lovers as well as those looking to relax by the sea. Bathing in the sea right in front of the hotel is not advised but, just a 15 minutes’ walk away is a natural rock pool where a refreshing dip can be had. There are also several other safe beaches just a short tuk-tuk ride away. Buckingham Place welcomes individual travellers, friends travelling together, and families with children. A minimum age of 9 years is maintained here.
Location
Buckingham Place is situated in the village of Rekawa just half an hour south of Tangalle and is easily accessed via the Southern Expressway. Rekawa is enroute to several wild life sanctuaries including the Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary, Bundala National Park and Yala National Park which is about 1.5 hrs away from here.

Extra-large Lagoon view bedrooms (74 sqm): Four extra-large Lagoon view rooms are located on the ground floor and opens out to private balconies. Up to two additional beds can be included for 4 adults or a family of 2 adults and 2 children.
Superior view suites (84 sqm): Four Superior View Suites have spectacular views of the mangrove canopy surrounding the Rekawa lagoon. These secluded suites are ideal for nature lovers and couples on their honeymoon.
Extra-large Superior view suites (93 sqm): Four spacious Superior View Suites opens out to views of the lagoon and the surrounding tree canopy. Two suites are located on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor. Accommodates up to 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults. There is an option of linked suites for families or friends travelling together .
