ITINERARY

Day 1- Colombo Airport to Sigiriya (4 hours) (Overnight at a hotel in Sigiriya)

Upon arrival in Sri Lanka, you will be welcomed by our driver guide and transferred to Sigiriya. The drive takes you through Sri Lanka's countryside, lush greenery and peaceful landscapes. If your flight arrives early, you may visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO site, a large cave temple, home to centuries-old statues and paintings. Check in at your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure and relax after your journey.

Day 2 – Day trip to Polonnaruwa (Each-way 2 hours) (Overnight stay at a hotel in Sigiriya)

After breakfast, travel to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, one of Sri Lanka's best preserved archaeological sites. Explore the remains of royal palaces, temples and beautifully carved stone Buddha statues including the well-known Gal Viharaya. In the afternoon, enjoy a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park, to see one of the largest elephant gatherings in Sri Lanka. Return to your hotel and enjoy a restful evening.

Day 3 – Explore Sigiriya (Overnight stay at a hotel in Sigiriya)

Begin the day with a climb of the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, another UNESCO site. The climb is steady and rewarding offering panoramic views from the summit. For those who prefer a slightly less crowded hike, Pidurangala Rock is a wonderful alternative and equally known for its spectacular scenery. Spend the afternoon relaxing at your hotel or enjoying or do a local village tour including local cooking.

Day 4 - Sigiriya to Kandy (3 hours) (Overnight stay at a hotel in Kandy)

In the morning, leave Sigiriya and journey to Kandy. Kandy is a Lively hill capital surrounded by mountains. En route stop at a spice garden in Matale where you can learn about the spices Sri Lanka is famous for. Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. It is a beautifully maintained garden with towering trees and orchids. Later, visit the Temple of the Scared Tooth Relic one of the country’s most important landmarks. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kandyan dance performance is showcasing local music and cultural artistry.

Day 5 – Kandy to Ella (5.5 hours – tickets subject to availability) (Overnight stay ata hotel in Ella)

After breakfast, begin your journey towards Sri Lanka’s beautiful hill country where the scenery gradually changes to rolling tea plantations, cool air and misty mountains. En route, you may visit a tea factory to observe the tea making process and taste a freshly brewed cup of Ceylon tea. Boarded the train from Nanu Oya to Ella is a journey widely admired for its spectacular views. The train passes lush tea estates, tunnels, waterfalls and quiet mountain villages. It making it one of the most memorable travel experiences in Sri Lanka. Ella is a charming hill country village known for its scenic beauty and laid-back atmosphere.

Day 6 – Discover Ella (Overnight stay at a hotel in Ella)

In the morning, set out to discover Ella’s natural highlights. Take a walk to Little Adam’s Peak. It is a gentle hike suitable for most travelers and rewarded with sweeping views of the surrounding valleys. Continue to the famous Nine Arch Bridge. It is an impressive colonial era structure set amidst thick greenery. If timing allows you can watch a train cross the bridge is a special experience. Later visit Halp Tea Factory located just a short drive from Ella. Here you can observe the traditional tea making process and gain a deeper understanding of how Ceylon tea is produced from leaf to cup. If time permits, you may also stop at Ravana Falls.

Day 7 – Ella to the south Coast via Wildlife (Overnight stay at a hotel in Galle)

After the breakfast, travel south towards the coast. On the way, visit Buduruwagala. It is a quiet historical site where large Buddha figures are carved into a rock Face. After that, you have a choice of two wildlife experiences either enjoy a safari at Udawalawe National Park where you can see elephants roaming in the wild along buffalo, deer and birds or visit the Elephant Transit Home, where orphaned baby elephants are cared for before being released back into the wild. Both Experiences are family friendly and unforgettable. Continue to Galle and enjoy your first night by the ocean.

Day 8 – Leisure by the Beach (Overnight stay at a hotel in Galle)

Enjoying a full day at leisure by the beach. Relax on the golden sands, swim in the warm waters if conditions are calm or simply enjoy the facilities at your hotel. Optional experiences nearby include visiting a turtle hatchery or taking a peaceful boat safari along the Madu River, you will glide through narrow waterways, spot native birds, monitor lizards and enjoy the serene natural scenery. In a turtle hatchery you can learn about the life cycle of turtles, see different species and even participate in releasing young turtles into the see. It is a memorable and educational experience for children and adults.

Day 9 – Explore Galle Fort (Overnight stay at a hotel in Galle)

In the morning visit the historic Galle Fort. It is a UNESCO world Heritage site rich in colonial charm. Walk through its narrow streets lined with boutiques, galleries and cafes while admiring the well-preserved architecture. A stroll along the fort walls offers beautiful views of the Indian ocean, especially in the late afternoon. Return to your hotel after visit and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Day 10 – Southern Coast Relaxation (Overnight stay at a hotel in Galle)

Spend your final full day on the southern coast at your own pace. Relax by the beach or choose optional seasonal activities such as whale watching from Mirissa, snorkeling or beginner surf lessons. Take a morning boat to spot whales in the Indian Ocean. Guides explain the marine life, making it safe and fun for families. Snorkeling offers you the chance to explore colorful fish and coral in calm waters. This is the perfect time to unwind and reflect on your journey through Sri Lanka.

Day 11 – Departure (hours 2.5)
