Kumu Beach Balapitiya
Introduction
Kumu Beach is a laid back 10- room boutique hotel located by the seaside in Balapitiya on the south west Coast. Set on tropical gardens with direct access to the sea, Kumu Beach is contemporary in design with serene interiors in blues and earthy tones that blends into the surroundings. There are several open air living and dining spaces to take in spectacular sunsets and the cool ocean breeze. The secluded beach fronting the hotel is ideal for a sunset stroll or an early morning dip in the sea. At nightfall, observe the magnificent marine turtles as they come ashore to nest. Kumu Beach is ideal for couples, friends travelling together as well as families with children.
Location
Balapitiya is an hour north of the historic town of Galle and approximately two hours south of Colombo’s international airport. A few minutes away is the town of Amabalangoda, well known for traditional arts and crafts and mask dancing.

Ocean View Suites (75 sqm): The 4 luxurious Ocean Suites offer much privacy and has a spacious living area and direct access to the garden or private balcony with sea views. Suites are furnished with King-size four-poster beds. An extra bed and baby cot can be included in the Suites upon request based on availability.
Ocean View Bedrooms (50 sqm): Similar in design to the Suites, the 4 Ocean View bedrooms open out to a private verandah or balcony with sea views. Bedrooms are furnished with King-size four-poster beds.
Kumu Bedrooms (25 sqm): The 2 Kumu Bedrooms are located on the upper floor and are furnished with twin beds. These bedrooms open out to garden views.

Venture off on a guided walk at the Lunuganga gardens developed by Sri Lanka’s iconic architect, the late Geoffrey Bawa; experience Ambalangoda’s traditional arts and crafts and masked dancing; or go on a boat ride along the mangrove lined Maadu river and take in rural village life. A range of watersports including jet skiing and wind surfing are available in Bentota located half an hour away.
