Immersed in Yala’s untouched wilderness in the south east of Sri Lanka, the Lalan Chalets offer comfortable and well-equipped chalets surrounded by nature. The five chalets are spread out in the gardens and are ideal for families or individual travelers keen on experiencing the Yala National Park. Yala’s extensive jungle cover is home to herds of wild elephants, the endangered leopard subspecies, Panthera Pardus Kotiya, which is only found in Sri Lanka; mugger crocodiles, sambar, deer, monkeys and so much more. Pelicans, Spoon Bills, Painted Stork, Ibis and more can be spotted by the waterbodies in Kumana and Yala. The number of exotic bird species swells from November to April when the migrant birds arrive in Sri Lanka to escape the cold winter months.
Located in the deep south, Yala National Park is the largest sanctuary in this region and can be accessed travelling along the South coast or from the Eastern Hills. The distance from the capital city of Colombo is approximately four hours.
Lalan Chalets are spacious and well designed to accommodate families and individual travelers. Each chalet consists of a bedroom opening out to the gardens or swimming pool, and has an attached bathroom with hot water shower.
Quadruple Chalets: The 5 Quadruple Chalets are furnished with two Double Beds in each chalet and can accommodate up to 4 adults or families with children.
Double Chalet: Furnished with a Double bed, this chalet accommodates two adults.
Sri Lankan and western cuisine is served at the restaurant. BBQs are prepared outdoors under the stars. A packed breakfast is provided for those going on an early morning jungle safari. After an adventurous day of exploring the jungles of Yala, relax with a cooling dip in the pool. Other facilities include indoor and outdoor games, pool table, laundry service, local guides and four-wheel drive vehicles on request.
