Location
Roo Mansala is in Sigiriya just 10 minutes away from the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, and can be accessed via Kandy or from the East Coast via Habarana. The hotel is centrally located with the Dambulla cave temple just 20 minutes away; the ancient kingdom of Polonnaruwa is one hour and 15 minutes away; and the Minneriya National Park is half an hour away.

Alakamandawa Suite: This is a spacious Suite with a bedroom on the ground floor, and mezzanine floor opening out to a balcony with mesmerizing views of the Rock Fortress and Pidurangala rock. Ensuite bathroom has twin vanities, bathtub, and hot water shower. Located in a tranquil setting, the Alakamandawa Suite offers much privacy and is ideal for couples on a romantic holiday.
Kassapa Refuge Panoramic Suite: The two Kassapa Suites are Inspired by King Kassapa, the architect behind the Rock Fortress. Suites are located on the upper floor of the villas and opens out to balconies with panoramic views of Sigiriya, Pidurangala and the untouched wilderness. The high vaulted timber ceilings make these suites bright and airy. Ensuite bathrooms have hot water showers.
Apsara Retreat Superior Room: Situated on the ground floor of the villas, the 3 Apsara rooms open out to lush gardens that attracts many species of birds. Rooms are furnished with a king-size bed and additional single bed. Ensuite bathrooms have hot water showers.

Nature lovers will enjoy exploring the surrounding wilderness that attracts many species of resident and endemic birds, butterflies as well as spotted deer, monkeys, and even wild elephants. Just beyond Roo Mansala are the breathtaking heritage sites of Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the Pidurangala rock, that stands side by side and rises high above the wilderness. Spend a morning exploring the Sigiriya Fortress with its landscaped gardens and irrigation systems at the base; winding steps leading to ruins of galleries, audience halls, and ruins of the palace at the peak. Best to attempt the steep climb to the peak early in the morning to avoid the sun. Reaching the peak of Pidurangala rock to take in the beautiful sunset, is also a memorable experience. The path to the peak can be accessed through the Pidurangala temple located close by.
