Introduction
Arika Villa is an eco-friendly holiday retreat in Dambulla situated at the edge of an estuary where a serene stream meets a drifting river. This tranquil setting, surrounded by wilderness, allows guests to relax and unwind amidst peaceful surroundings. Arika Villa’s bedrooms and suites are on two floors and built around the swimming pool. Rooms open out to a verandah or balcony looking out to the wilderness that attracts many birds. Arika Vill is constructed with the greatest respect to nature and aims at conserving the surrounding natural environment.
Location
Arika Villa can be accessed travelling via Kandy and Matale; as well as from Habarana travelling from the north and east coast. The villa is located just 10 minutes away from the ancient Dambulla cave temple and 45 minutes from the Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
Accommodation
Accommodation is in 8 well-appointed rooms and suites fitted with all modern conveniences. The 4 categories of spacious rooms can be converted in to family rooms with the addition of extra beds or baby cots. The 4 rooms on the ground floor have open to sky ensuite bathrooms and opens on to a verandah. The 4 upper floor rooms have high beams creating much light and opens out to a balcony.

Deluxe Room Garden View (27 sqm): This spacious ground floor room opens out to a verandah and the wilderness. Interior is furnished with a queen-size bed (an additional bed or baby cot can be included upon request). The open air ensuite bathroom has a hot water shower and provides much privacy. Accommodates up to 3 guests.
Deluxe Room River View (27 sqm): Located on the ground floor, these rooms open out to a verandah with sitting area and serene river views. Furnished with a queen-size bed (an additional single bed or baby cot is provided upon request). Has an open air ensuite bathroom with hot water shower. Accommodates up to 3 guests.
Serenity Suite (45 sqm): Located on the upper floor, this spacious suite opens out to a balcony with garden and river views. Furnished with a queen-size bed and single bed. Extra bed or baby cot is provided upon request. En-suite bathroom has hot water shower. Accommodates up to 4 guests.
Family Suite (65 sqm): Located on the upper floor, the Family Suite opens out to a balcony with river and garden views. This suite consists of two interconnecting Deluxe Rooms and has two ensuite bathrooms. Each room is furnished with a queen-size bed and single bed. An extra bed or baby cot is provided on request. Ideal for a family or friends travelling together. Accommodates up to 5 guests.

Sri Lankan and western meals are served in the restaurant located by the poolside, or in the privacy of your own room. Nature lovers will find bird watching highly rewarding here. Arika Villa is conveniently located to explore the ancient heritage sites of Dambulla, Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa. Dambulla’s ancient cave temples are located just 10 minutes away. This magnificent heritage site dates to over 2,000 years and consists of a series of five caves with exquisite Buddha statues and murals that are well preserved. An early morning climb to the cave temples is recommended to avoid the sun. Go on an adventurous jeep safari to Minneriya National Park where large herds of elephants gather at the Minneriya tank within the park, especially during the dry season from around July to September. Sambar, spotted deer, wild buffalo and many species of birds can also be seen in Minneriya.
